This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of IMPACT Wrestling on POP TV! Tonight in our main event EC3 teams up with Alberto El Patron to take on Johnny Impact and Moose, Allie takes on the debuting Keira Hogan and much more so be sure to come back here at 8PM EST for all of the action!
-We open the show with a recap of how Matt Sydal won the IMPACT Grand Championship last week along with all of the other matches on Genesis.
IMPACT Grand Championship Match
Matt Sydal (c) vs Fallah Bahh
They play to the crowd to start the match before Bahh tosses Matt away when he goes to lock up. Matt kicks Bahh in the leg repeatedly, but Bahh just drops him repeatedly, Matt coming back with a series of of huricanrrana before dropping him with a wheel kick. Matt goes back to kicking Bahh in the leg before Bahh hits a scoop slam, but misses a leg drop before Matt hits a PK into a standing moonsault for a near fall. Matt kicks Bahh more, stumbling him with a roundhouse before hitting a meteora off of the top for a near fall. Bahh hits a running cross body and comes back with a series of chops before catching Matt coming off of the top and hitting a Samoan drop.
Bahh rolls over Matt for a near fall before Matt sends Bahh over the top rope and to the floor, then Matt rolls Bahh back into the ring, but Bahh catches Matt on the top turnbuckle. Bahh misses a drop off of the top and Matt hits a shooting star press for the pin and the win.
Winner: Matt Sydal defeats Fallah Bahh to retain his IMPACT Grand Championship with a shooting star press.
KM vs Lashley
KM slaps Lashley before Lashley hits him with a series of right hands and a shoulder tackle in the corner, KM coming back with a front suplex before Lashley hits a flat liner as we go to commercial.
KM is in control as we come back from commercial, elbow dropping Lashley while playing to the crowd before Lashley fights out of a rear chin lock, Lashley going through the ropes before KM hits a tope over the top rope and onto Lashley on the floor. KM rolls Lashley back into the ring while playing to the crowd before missing a slingshot splash, Lashley coming back with a series of clotheslines and a powerslam for a quick two count. Lashley then hits a suplex before KM hits a sit-out chokeslam for a near fall, then Lashley turns KM inside out with a spear for the pin and the win.
Winner: Lashley defeats KM via pinfall with a spear.
Laurel Van Ness vs Keira Hogan
Laurel is in control early before missing a splash, then Keira comes back with a series of forearms, but it's short lived as Laurel catches her on the top and sends her off of the top turnbuckle and to the mat. Laurel then hits a curb stomp and the Unprettier before Allie comes down and distracts Laurel allowing Keira to roll her up for the pin and the win.
Winner: Keira Hogan defeats Laurel Van Ness via pinfall with a roll up after Allie distracts her.
-LAX come out and talk about Barbed Wire Massacre 3 before being interrupted by oVe, then oVe leave before the Cult of Lee attacks LAX in the ring before Lee and Konley run off with LAX's flags.
EC3 & Alberto El Patron vs Moose & Johnny Impact
Johnny and EC3 start the match off with Johnny in control and playing to the crowd before he tags Moose in and they double team EC3 for a quick two count. Johnny drags EC3 over and tags Moose in, Moose getting dropped with a back elbow before EC3 drags him to his corner and tags Alberto in. Alberto drops Moose before putting him in a headlock that he fights out of, then Alberto puts Moose in an armbar in the ropes until the referee makes him stop. EC3 tags back in and puts Moose in a stretching submission that he fights out of, but EC3 tosses him out of the ring. Johnny tries to get Moose back in the match, but EC3 puts him back into the ring and smashes his face into the apron repeatedly for a quick two count. EC3 and Alberto start tagging in and out and keeping Moose isolated in their corner before Moose finally tags Johnny in. Johnny drops EC3 with a leg lariat before he and Moose hit a double superkick to Alberto. EC3 then drags Johnny out of the ring when he goes for a pin attempt and sends him into the ring post as we go to commercial.
Alberto is in control of Johnny as we come back from commercial until Johnny sends him over the top rope and to the floor. Johnny tries to tag Moose in, but EC3 rushes in and grabs him before EC3 puts Johnny in a front choke that he fights out of, but EC3 immediately drives him back into his corner and tags Alberto in. Alberto hits an elbow drop off of the top before playing to the crowd and tagging EC3 back in. Johnny counters an attempted superplex into a cross body before finally tagging Moose in, Moose hitting a running back elbow and a hesitation dropkick in the corner for a quick two count. Johnny comes back in and hits a swinging neckbreaker to EC3 before Johnny hits a side Russian leg sweep to Alberto and Alberto puts Johnny into the tree of woe.
Alberto then misses a double foot stomp off of the top before Moose turns him inside out with a lariat for the pin and the win.
Winner: Moose & Johnny Impact defeat Alberto El Patron & EC3 via pinfall when Moose hits Alberto with a lariat.
-Eli Drake & Chris Adonis come out to the ring and Chris shows us a highlight reel of all of the things the two of them have accomplished together including, but not limited to winning the IMPACT Global Championship. Drake says that he's the greatest champion in the history of IMPACT and a sharp dresser before saying that no one can touch him and he's interrupted by the returning Austin Aries. The crowd erupts at the Greatest Man That Ever Lived as he makes his way down to the ring and gets in and says that he missed the fans and that he is the longest reigning and six time X-Division champion and that before Eli can call himself the greatest champion who ever lived he has to beat him. Eli acts like he's going to accept his challenge before Chris hits Austin from behind with the belt as a referee rushes down to the ring.
IMPACT Global Championship Match
Eli Drake (c) vs Austin Aries
Drake immediately gets a near fall as soon as the match starts with Aries on the mat before Eli argues with the referee and Austin knocks Chris off of the apron and to the floor. Austin then side steps Eli when he rushes in and hits a brainbuster for the pin and the win.
Winner: Austin Aries defeats Eli Drake via pinfall with a brainbuster to become the new IMPACT Global champion.
