This is the Fightful.com live coverage for tonight's episode of WWE NXT. Tonight in our main event Tyler Bate and Roderick Strong square off to determine who will face Pete Dunne for his WWE United Kingdom Championship, Nikki Cross faces Lacey Evans and TM61 return to action so be sure to come back here 8 PM EST for an hour showcasing the WWE NXT brand!
-We open the show with a recap of NXT TakeOver: Philadelphia this past weekend.
Nikki Cross vs Lacey Evans
Nikki immediately hits a running cross body before Lacey hits a kick that sends Nikki out of the ring, then Nikki beats on Lacey when she goes out after her at ringside before rolling her back into the ring. They get back in the ring and Lacey pulls Nikki off of the top before beating on her in mount with a series of elbows. Lacey then plays to the crowd before missing a moonsault and Nikki comes back with a series of clotheslines before finishing with a swinging neckbreaker for the pin and the win.
Winner: Nikki Cross defeats Lacey Evans via pinfall with a swinging neckbreaker.
-After the match we get a recap of the NXT Tag Team Championship match from the last TakeOver event before being told about the return of TM61 later tonight as we go to commercial.
-We come back from commercial to the announcement that Undisputed Era will defend their NXT Tag Team Championship next week against SANITY.
TM61 vs Ealy Brothers
TM61 quickly double team Uriel before he rolls out of the ring, then Shane hits a tope over the top rope to take out both Ealy Brothers. TM61 get Uriel back into the ring and Nick beats on Uriel before the referee gets distracted and the identical twins switch out. Nick fights his way out of the corner and tags Shane in before he takes out both brothers with a running dropkick in the corner and a back suplex. Shane tags Nick back in and he hits a moonsault for a near fall before TM61 hit Thunder Valley for the pin and the win.
Winner: TM61 defeat the Ealy Brothers via pinfall with their finisher Thunder Valley.
-As we come back from commercial we get a recap of the NXT Championship Match where Andrade Almas retained his title and how Tommaso Ciampa attacked Johnny Gargano after the match as well as Tommaso refusing to say anything to reporters afterwards.
WWE United Kingdom Championship Number One Contender Match
Tyler Bate vs Roderick Strong
They lock up to start the match before exchanging wrist locks until Tyler dropkicks Roderick and puts him in an airplane spin. Roderick hits a draping backbreaker for a quick two count before chopping Tyler repeatedly in the corner and hitting another backbreaker for a quick two count. Roderick then keeps Tyler grounded as we go to commercial.
Tyler fights his way back to his feet as we come back from commercial before Strong puts him in a unique stretching submission that he manages to get out of. Tyler drops Strong with a right hand before falling down onto the mat, then comes back with a clothesline and a running European uppercut in the corner. Tyler hits a bridging dead lift German suplex for a near fall before Tyler hits a Saito suplex for another near fall. Tyler then counters a superplex only for Roderick to hit another backbreaker for a near fall. Tyler then turns Roderick inside out with a rebound lariat before Strong counters the Tyler Driver'97 and rocks Tyler with a jumping knee before hitting the End of Heartache for the pin and the win.
Winner: Roderick Strong defeats Tyler Bate via pinfall with the End of Heartache and will go on to challenge Pete Dunne for his WWE United Kingdom Championship.
