WWE NXT Results for 7/13/21 NXT Championship Match Karrion Kross vs. Johnny Gargano

- NXT begins with clips from last week's NXT Great American Bash.

Jon Moxley Says He's Still On A Handshake Deal With NJPW

- NXT Commentator Vic Joseph welcomes the viewer to NXT, and they are coming to us live from the Capitol Wrestling Center.

Ember Moon vs. Dakota Kai (w/ Raquel Gonzalez)

Dakota Kai and Ember Moon begin things with a lock-up. Neither women have an advantage until Moon takes Kai down with multiple arm-drags. Kai gets a flurry offense in after sending Moon into the corner turnbuckle sternum first. Kai hits Moon with a big boot; Moon is back up and sends Kai to the outside and gets in a series of strikes. We go to the first picture-in-picture commercial break with Kai in complete control.

Moon gets a pin attempt in on Kai; however, Kai kicks out at one. We are back from the break, and Kai is getting a few strikes in on Moon and hits a suplex. Moon gets up right away and is mad; Moon brings an onslaught of attacks to Dakota Kai. Kai hits a big running kick to the face of Ember Moon; Kai goes for the pin and only gets a two-count. Kai was going to the top turnbuckle, and Moon takes Kai down with a hurricanrana. Dakota Kai ends it by hitting the GTK and pins, Moon.

The lights go out, and Xia Li comes out and walks past Dakota Kai and gets in the face of Gonzalez and challenges Gonzalez.

Winner: Dakota Kai (w/ Raquel Gonzalez)

- We get a promo with Diamond Mine from earlier in the day, and it sets up Bobby Fish vs. Tyler Rust.

- We get Cameron Grimes for his first day of work. They give him a makeover, but he looks the same. LA Knight has him follow him to get started for some work.

Bobby Fish vs. Tyler Rust (w/ Diamond Mine)

The match begins with Bobby Fish getting the upper hand, but Tyler Rust comes back with some body shots. Next, Bobby Fish lays some stiff kicks in on Rust. Then, Roderick Strong gets on the apron and has words for Bobby Fish. This distracts Fish, who then gets hit from behind and takes out Fish to get the pin and win.

After the match, Diamond Mine gets in the ring and surrounds Fish; Kushida arrives before Fish gets attacked, and Diamond Mine leaves the ring.

Winner: Tyler Rust (w/ Diamond Mine)

- After the match, we get a clip of Samoa Joe going to Karrion Kross and giving him the instructions for tonight's match.

- We see The Way arriving at the Capitol Wrestling Center; Beth Phoneix talking to Indi Hartwell and says, "sometimes you need to take a chance."

Gigi Dolin vs. Sarray

Gigi Dolin and Sarray lock up, and both counter each other's moves. We get both women about to lock in again, but they look at the stage, and it's Raw's, Mandy Rose. Dolin now gets a flurry of strikes in on Sarray. Mandy Rose watches on; Sarray hits Gigi Dolin with a diving dropkick and then follows it up with a high angle suplex. Sarray covers Dolin to get the win. Mandy Rose walks away after the match.

Winner: Sarray

- We get a promo from Santos Escobar talking about his past feud with Bronson Reed and then talks about his upcoming match against Dexter Lumis. Escobar says Lumis "has failed in love and now will fail in the ring."

- We get a promo for this upcoming week's NXT UK show.

Legado Del Fantasma's Santos Escobar (w/ Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza) vs. Dexter Lumis

The match begins with Dexter Lumis staring at Santos Escobar and Escobar lands a few shots in. Dexter stops a right that Escobar throws; Lumis is then distracted by Raul Mendoza for a second, allowing Escobar to get more strikes on Lumis. Escobar is freaked out by Lumis crawling in the ring and tells Mendoza and Wilde to "get him." Wilde and Mendoza go to the other side of the ring, and Lumis is not there. Lumis goes under the ring and comes out the other side by Escobar and takes him down. Escobar and Mendoza come to the aide of Escobar, so Lumis cannot take Escobar underneath the ring with him.

We come back from commercial break, and Escobar gives Lumis two big chops to the chest of Lumis. Escobar then delivers a big running knee to the face of Lumis. Next, Escobar charges in and hits Lumis with multiple clotheslines, and then he hits Lumis with two suplexes. Next, Escobar hits Lumis with a backstabber, Lumis gets up right away, and then Lumis gets in a flurry of offense and then hits Escobar with a Bulldog. Escobar is assisted by Wilde and Mendoza on the outside, leading Escobar to win after hitting the Fantom Driver. After the match, Hit Row is at the top of the stage and confronts Legado Del Fantasma.

Winner: Legado Del Fantasma's Santos Escobar (w/ Joaquin Wilde and Raul Mendoza)

- We get a Wade Barrett sit-down interview Kyle O'Reilly talking about how he noticed some of the things he has to do after rewatching his match against Adam Cole last week.

- We come back from a commercial break with another clip of LA Knight and Cameron Grimes. Knight has Grimes mowing a field of grass.

NXT Breakout Tournament Match
Duke Hudson vs. Ikemen Jiro

The match begins with Ikemen Jiro going right after Duke Hudson; Hudson has Jiro on his shoulders, drops him down on the ropes, and then a big punch taking Jiro down hard. Jiro is now getting some offense in, Hudon is stuck on the ropes until the ref breaks the hold. Hudson hits Jiro with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Jiro gets back up and hits a springboard top rope moonsault to the outside on Hudson.

Jiro now hits Hudson with two big kicks to the face of Hudson, Jiro goes for a third, but Hudson meets him with a Bossman Slam to get the pin and the win.

Winner: Duke Hudson

- We get a backstage promo with Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Dunne asks where Johnny Gargano and Karrion Kross are and says that he will be coming after them. Timothy Thatcher asks Dunne a question, and then Tommaso Ciampa comes flying and going after Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Security breaks it up, and we go to commercial.

Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter vs. Aliyah and Jessi Kamea (w/Robert Stone)

The match begins with Kacy Catanzaro going right in gets taken down right away with a northern lights suplex; Aliyah and Kamea are in complete control as they are laying it in on Catanzaro. Kayden Carter gets tagged in, and she takes down Aliyah. Robert Stone hands his shoe to Aliyah, and Kayden Carter stops her from using it. Carter tags in Kacy Catazaro, and Catanzaro hits the 450 splash on Aliyah to get the win. After the match, Aliyah finally had enough and attacked Robert Stone; Franky Monet comes out and talks to Jessi Kamea, and Kamea leaves with her.

Winner: Kacy Catanzaro and Kayden Carter

- After the match, we get Samoa Joe giving instructions to Johnny Gargano. Then, Joe walks away and is confronted by Pete Dunne. They stare at each other, and we go to a commercial break.

- We get another Cameron Grimes and LA Knight segment; Knight paid a child to mow the grass for him. This makes Knight mad; Knight says they will not pay him, and the child kicks him in the shin. Grimes then goes to clean up and knocks Knight into the pool "accidentally".

- Adam Cole comes out to cut a promo and says he is tired of talking about Kyle O'Reilly and wants to talk about Samoa Joe. He calls Samoa Joe an "overpaid security guard in a suit". Cole says that there is nobody in the back who is man enough to take him on. Bronson Reed comes out and tells Adam Cole that all his eyes are on him, and he says that he sees Adam Cole as his golden opportunity. Cole goes for a superkick, but Bronson avoids it; Reed takes Cole down. Coles leaves the ring and tells Reed, "he will pay for that." Samoa Joe's music goes off, and he makes his way to the ring, he and Cole have a staredown, and Cole leaves. Joe gets in the ring, and now he and Reed exchange looks as we go to a commercial break.

- We go to a backstage segment with Robert Stone, Jessi Kamea, and Franky Monet leaving the Capitol Wrestling Center and is stopped by Raw's Mandy Rose, who says, "it looks like the Brand is under new management" and walks away.

NXT Championship Match
Johnny Gargano vs. Karrion Kross (w/ Scarlett Bordeaux)
Samoa Joe as Special Guest Referee

Johnny Gargano goes right after Karrion Kross, and Samoa Joe calls for the bell to ring to start the match. Karrion Kross takes Gargano down with ease and is throwing him around. Gargano gets some offense in and walks away from him. Gargano turns around, and Kross hits him with a big boot to the face. Kross goes in for another big strike on Gargano but misses and goes into the steel steps. Kross recovers and slams down Gargano onto the commentator's desk.

Samoa Joe makes Kross get back into the ring, or he would start the count, Gargano is trying to recover, and we go to our last picture-in-picture commercial break. Kross would maintain control until Gargano moves out of the way and Kross hits the steel post shoulder first. Next, Gargano hits a stand-up enzuigiri; he then hits a moonshot spear. Gargano then hits Kross, a dive through the middle of the ropes. Kross goes back into the ring, and he hits Gargano with a northern lights suplex and then a vertical suplex. Kross then throws some heavy shots in on the lower back of Gargano. Kross might be going for a Saito; however, Gargano counters it into a crossbody. Next, Gargano hits Kross with a pendulum swinging DDT.

Kross has the Straight-Jacket on, and Gargano escapes, and Gargano has his submission hold on. Kross has it on again but makes it to the ropes. Kross won't let go of the ropes, and Samoa Joe pushes him off. Joe and Kross have some words; Kross goes back after Gargano and slams Gargano into the wall. Kross gives the bird to Joe, and Joe goes outside the ring to stop the attack. Gargano comes back and gets some offense in. Kross hits Gargano with three powerbomb's and then hits Gargano with the Doomsday Saito. Kross finishes it and then pins Gargano and retains. After the match, Samoa Joe and Kross have words. Joe leaves, and Kross attacks him and puts Joe to sleep, and we go off the air.
