WWE NXT Results for 7/15/20 NXT Women's Championship Match

Good evening Fight Fans and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE NXT headlined by a Women's Championship match between the champion Io Shirai and the challenger Tegan Nox!

- We open tonight's show with a recap of last week's show in which Keith Lee became the new NXT champion before we get a video package of several NXT Superstars telling Lee to enjoy being champion while he can and that they're coming for it.

- We then throw to the ring where Keith is introduced and he comes out to the ring to celebrate his winning the NXT championship and becoming the first double champion in NXT history. Keith asks to be introduced again before referencing the past couple of months in society before saying that there's something incredibly special that can happen in the ring. Keith says that he stands before everyone as both the North American champion and the NXT champion before draping the title belts on the mat. Keith says that it's back to reality and that there is an entire locker room who will be vying for those two belts before saying that he didn't do it on his own, that opportunity and chances helped him get to where he is.

Keith references Tim Brooks who gave him a shot and helped him get where he is today and that the NXT Universe lifted and pushed him to the top when they sang his theme song before referencing his number one frenemy Dominik Dijakovic. Keith asks Dom to come out to the ring so they can talk before Dom does just that and Keith tells him that it's about the both of them. Keith says that the competition between the two propelled Keith to the opportunity he's gotten and that he's tested his limits unlike anyone else could. Keith says that he talked to General Manager William Regal who agreed with him that Keith's first challenger for both belts should be Dom, Keith saying that they should do it tonight before Dom reluctantly agrees.

- We cut to Tegan Nox from earlier today before we get a graphic for the NXT Women's championship match in tonight's main event as well as a graphic for Damian Priest versus Cameron Grimes up next as we go to commercial.

Damian Priest vs Cameron Grimes

Grimes rushes Priest, but he's ready, dropping Grimes with several punches and kicks before the match starts and Priest stomps Grimes down in the corner. Priest hits a jumping back elbow in the corner before hitting a spinning ax kick and Grimes rolls out of the ring before Priest kicks Grimes from the apron once Grimes gets back in. Grimes catches Priest in mid-air with a forearm when Priest goes for a springboard before Grimes hits a spinning sit-out uranage for two. Grimes then dropkicks Priest for another two count as we go to commercial.

We come back to Priest clapping the ears of Grimes and rocking him with a flurry of kicks before turning him inside out and missing a jumping in the corner before Grimes clotheslines him over the top rope and down onto the floor. Priest lands on his feet and goes for a chokeslam that Grimes counters before Priest hits Grimes with a forearm when he goes for the Cave-In on the floor. Priest hits a razors edge powerbomb onto the edge of the apron and tosses him back inside before Grimes ducks a kick and Priest counters a German suplex. Cameron rolls Priest up for two before Priest hits a flat liner for two and Grimes gets two off of a small package before Grimes hits the Collision Course for a near fall. They then exchange strikes until Grimes gets trapped in the ropes when Priest dodges the Cave-In and Priest hits a cyclone kick into a draping version of The Reckoning for the pin and the win.

Winner: Damian Priest defeats Cameron Grimes via pinfall.

- After the match Damian wishes both Keith and Dom luck in their title match before we see Io Shirai making her way to the arena earlier today.

- We get another segment of Timothy Thatcher's wrestling school where he demonstrates a Fujiwara armbar and that holding onto the submission after the opponent taps leaves an impression on them that will last a life time. Tim then references him submitting Oney Lorcan at The Great American Bash before dismissing the class as we go to commercial.

Shotzi Blackheart vs Indi Hartwell

Shotzi focuses on the arm of Indi before getting two off of a roll up and Indi catches a kick before Shotzi drops her. Shotzi hits a hurricanrana before missing a move in the corner and Indi comes back with strikes and a headbutt for two before dropping Shotzi with a back elbow for another two count. Indi hits Shotzi with a side slam for two and stretches the arms of Shotzi before Shotzi gets to her feet and comes back with a running splash in the corner into a bulldog and a discus elbow. Shotzi hits a switchblade kick into an inverted senton before Robert Stone comes out to the ring and gets up onto the apron before Shotzi hits a DDT to Indi. Aliyah then yanks Shotzi from the top rope and down onto the mat when Robert distracts the referee before Indi drops her with a running boot for the pin and the win.

Winner: Indi Hartwell defeats Shotzi Blackheart via pinfall.

- Tegan Nox is interviewed ahead of her title challenge later tonight against Io Shirai.

- We get a video package where Santos Escobar celebrates with Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde, Santos mocking Drake Maverick who he believes they have put an end to. Legado Del Fantasma talk in Spanish about how Lucha Libre is art and they are the true Lucha Libre artists. Santos says that they'll have to tear down the cruiserweight division and rebuild it in their image before they all have a toast.

- We get a video package of Keith Lee winning the NXT champion and becoming the first double champion in NXT history while reactions from several in WWE on Twitter scroll across the screen before we get a graphic for the double title match up next as we go to commercial.

North American & NXT Championship Winner Take All Match

Keith Lee (c) vs Dominik Dijakovic

They start the match off with a test of strength that Keith wins for a clean break when Dom backs into the ropes before they lock up and Keith backs Dom into the corner. They spin around against the ropes until they have a clean break against the ropes with Dom backing off of Keith before they fist bump. Lee and Dijakovic lock up once more, Lee taking Dom down and slamming his arm into the mat before Dom dodges a splash by Lee and covers him for barely a one count. Dom offers Keith a hand shake which he accepts before pulling Dom into a standing side headlock that Dom reverses into one of his own. Dom runs the ropes and repeatedly tries to knock Keith over, but he doesn't budge before Dom goes for another hand shake and chops Keith across the chest.

Lee then drops Dom with a Grizzly Magnum before Dom catches Lee climbing to the top and Lee counters Feast Your Eyes as we go to commercial.

Dom is in control of Lee as we come back to the ring, having Lee in a rear chin lock before he runs him over and nearly sends him out of the ring with a shoulder tackle. Dom comes back with a side slam before Lee hits a twisting neckbreaker for two and sits Dom on the top turnbuckle before Dom headbutts Lee off of the top turnbuckle and hits a diving blockbuster for two. Dom then hits a cyclone boot for two and follows up with an attempted diving elbow before Lee knocks him out of the air with another Grizzly Magnum and hits The Big Bang Catastrophe for the pin and the win.

Winner: Keith Lee retains both of his titles by defeating Dominik Dijakovic via pinfall.

- They share a hug after the match before the lights go out and Scarlett comes out to the ring and places the broken hour glass in the ring before leaving.

- We get a graphic for Timothy Thatcher who's in action up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back to see Io Shirai getting ready for her title defense.

- We go to a backstage interview with Dominik Dijakovic who talks about how good Keith is and says that Kross is no Lee before Kross appears and they brawl off camera before we go over and see that Kross laid Dom out.

Timothy Thatcher vs Denzel Dejournette

Denzel immediately backs Tim into the ropes before they grapple on the mat and Tim gets back to his feet before going for a double wrist lock and beating Denzel down to the mat. Tim then submits Denzel with a Fujiwara armbar for the tap.

Winner: Timothy Thatcher defeats Denzel Dejournette via submission.

- Tim locks in an ankle lock after the match before Oney Lorcan comes to Denzel's rescue.

- We see a graphic of a tweet by Rhea Ripley who says that she's setting her sights on the NXT Women's Championship and that she's done with Aliyah and The Robert Stone brand before we get a graphic for the main event up next as we go to commercial.

- We come back to earlier today where Robert Stone is talking to someone before he's interrupted by Killian Dain and Aliyah comes up and shows him a painting Dexter Lumis did of Robert being ran over with Shotzi's tank. Dain then demands that Robert get him a match against Lumis next week before Killian Dain versus Dexter Lumis and Karrion Kross versus Dominik Dijakovic are announced for next week's show.

NXT Women's Championship Match

Io Shirai (c) vs Tegan Nox

They have a shoving contest before the match starts and lock up once it does before they exchange wrist and hammer locks. Io takes Tegan down with a side headlock takeover before Tegan gets a pair of two counts off of a back slide before Tegan gets to her feet and takes Io down. Io rolls to the ropes when Tegan applies a headlock on the mat before they take turns kicking each other in the midsection in the corner. Tegan then hits Io with forearms and kicks her in the corner before Io sends her out of the ring and Io misses a baseball slide before catching a kick and sending Tegan face first down onto the mat as we go to commercial.

We come back to Io in control before Tegan comes back with forearms and counters a diving cross body by Io into a bridging fall away slam for two. Io sends Tegan into the corner and chokes her before hitting wrecking ball double knees in the corner for two and takes Tegan down to the mat applying a straight arm bar with a chin bar. Tegan gets two off of a roll up before Io drops her with a kick and chokes her in the ropes before hitting a scoop slam and missing a running elbow drop. Nox gets two off of an Oklahoma roll before Io chops her against the ropes and they exchange strikes until Io slams Nox down to the mat by her hair. Io then hits double knees to a grounded Nox for two and stomps her on the mat before Tegan rocks Io with a headbutt and a flapjack for two as we go to commercial.

We come back to Tegan in control before they end up at ringside and Io sends Tegan into the steps before missing a running meteora into the steps and Tegan rolls her back into the ring. Tegan goes for a chokeslam that Io counters and hits a butterfly backbreaker onto her own injured knee before Tegan rolls her up for two. Io hits a bridging German suplex for two and Tegan puts her in the tree of woe before hitting an inverted cannonball in the corner for a two count of her own. Tegan drops Io with clotheslines and drops her in the corner with an uppercut before hitting a running inverted cannonball into a diving cross body for two. Tegan calls for a chokeslam that she hits for a near fall before hitting a running uppercut in the corner and Io hits a German suplex into the corner. Io hits the Bullet Train into a Tiger Feint Kick before hitting a missile dropkick for a near fall.

Tegan then counters a Tiger driver into a sit-out facebuster before hitting a Molly-Go-Round for a near fall and Io drops her with a shotei when she goes for The Shiniest Wizard before Io finishes Tegan with a moonsault for the pin and the win.

Winner: Io Shirai retains her NXT Women's Championship by defeating Tegan Nox via pinfall.

- After the match we get a recap of the match before we go to Io celebrating on the ramp and getting dropped by Dakota Kai out of nowhere as we go off the air.
