WWE SmackDown (10/13/2023) Results: Roman Reigns Returns, WWE Tag Title Match, Triple H Appears

On October 13, 2023, WWE hosted a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

The show was headlined by Roman Reigns making his SmackDown return & Triple H making an appearance to make an announcement. Full results are listed below.

WWE SmackDown (10/13/2023).

  • Michael Cole, Kevin Patrick & Corey Graves welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening segment.
  • John Cena came to the ring to kick off the Series Premiere of Friday Night SmackDown, but he was immediately interrupted by The Bloodline (Solo Sikoa, Paul Heyman & the returning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns). Reigns said that Cena came back because Reigns had taken his leave and said that he was the real GOAT. Cena said he was not here to challenge him, but to acknowledge him for his historic reign, saying that his reign was earned. Cena said that he had not earned a shot at the title, but knew of someone that had.
    This led LA Knight to interrupt and confront Roman Reigns. Knight said that Reigns was currently just a man standing his way before saying that while Reigns was at home, the game was now LA Knight's, which the crowd agreed to. Knight called himself the fastest rising star in SmackDown history but was immediately attacked by Jimmy Uso. Knight tossed Uso out of the ring before arguing with Reigns. The Bloodline walked out of the ring before Reigns instructed Sikoa to forget about Cena and handle Knight. Sikoa challenged Knight to a match tonight, which Knight accepted by saying that he would "stomp his ass out and use it as a mop".
  • Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) def. Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland & Butch).
  • Carlito was interviewed backstage, saying that his return to WWE in Fastlane was "cool". Bobby Lashley interrupted Carlito and welcomed him back to SMackDown. Carlito challenged Lashley to a match, but Carlito was attacked from behind by The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) with a chair. Adam Pearce & Jason Jordan stopped the attack before calling for medics.
  • LWO (Santos Escobar, Rey Mysterio. &Zelina Vega) & Dragon Lee checked on Carlito alongside Jason Jordan & Adam Pearce before being interrupted by Bayley, who complained to Pearce why there was not a celebration for Iyo Sky. Vega & Bayley argued backstage before Pearce demanded them to settle it in the ring.
  • Roman Reigns was backstage with Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa & Paul Heyman. Reigns told Jimmy to stop calling audibles fo The Bloodline.
  • Bayley (w/ Dakota Kai & WWE Women's Champion Iyo Sky) def. Zelina Vega.
    • Bayley & Iyo SKy attacked Vega after the match, but Charlotte Flair made the save.
  • WWE & TKO Chief Of Content Paul Levesque, also known as Triple H, came to the ring to make an announcement alongside Adam Pearce. Triple H said that Pearce was now assigned as the General Manager of Monday Night Raw. When he was about to announce the general manager of SmackDown, NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio interrupted to complain to Levesque & Pearce about Judgment Day being screwed out of the tag titles.
    Levesque then told Dominik that he was complaining to the wrong man before announcing that the new General Manager of Friday Night SmackDown was former NWA Worlds Champion Nick Aldis. Aldis then announced that the newest member of Friday Night SmackDown was none other than Kevin Owens.
  • There was a video package highlighting Dragon Lee.
  • WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Piper Niven & Chelsea Green spoke with Nick Aldis before Charlotte Flair interrupted. Aldis spoke with Flair and said that she would go one-on-one against Iyo Sky for the WWE Women's Championship. Jade Cargill bumped into Flair backstage, where they introduced themselves to each other.
  • WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship - Open Challenge: Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso (c) vs A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller).
    • After the match, The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso & Paul Heyman) confronted Cody Rhodes & Jey Uso. SmackDown GM Nick Aldis & WWE Producer Kenny Dykstra came to separate the two groups.
  • LA Knight def. Solo Sikoa (w/ Paul Heyman).
    • Jimmy Uso tried to get involved but was attacked by John Cena with the Attitude Adjustment. Sikoa hit the Spike on Cena, but Knight saw the opening and hit the BFT on Sikoa for the win. After the match, Roman Reigns hit LA Knight with a Spear. Reigns stood tall to end the broadcast.
