It was a very busy weekend for WWE and its various brands. Counting the two nights of tapings held in England for the new NXT UK product, WWE held 14 different live events this past week.
On the Raw tour, with Dolph Ziggler off the road for the weekend, Jinder Mahal filled in as Drew McIntyre's partner, in a de facto reunion of the former 3MB bandmates. Mahal and McIntyre faced Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins at the first stop in Columbus, Georgia, then teamed with Baron Corbin for six-man headliners against Reigns, Rollins and Finn Balor at the last two house shows of the loop.
On Smackdown, Becky Lynch and Lana joined forces as a babyface tag team. Those events were headlined by a Summerslam preview with AJ Styles successfully defending his WWE Title against Samoa Joe.
NXT had another crew making a loop of the West Coast, which included NXT alum and current Raw competitor Tyler Breeze seeing action at all four stops -- including a challenge of NXT North American Champ Adam Cole. Breeze also made an NXT return in May in Florida.
Back in Florida, NXT held another set of live events highlighted by the wrestling debut of Marina Shafir, one of the "Four Horsewomen" to cross over from mixed martial arts along with Ronda Rousey and current NXT champ Shayna Baszler. Shafir also is the fiancee of Roderick Strong. The Florida events also saw the NXT live event debut for recent signee Keith Lee, who squashed Dan Matha in a matter of seconds, then beat Tian Bing the next night.
