Ricky Saints Grades His AEW And NXT Runs
Ricky Saints has been in NXT just over a year, capturing the NXT North American Title and NXT Title during his time.
He joined NXT after spending time in AEW where he took part in Sting’s first match back, won the AEW Tag Team Titles, and faced CM Punk and Bryan Danielson.
Speaking to David Shoemaker and Kazeem Famiyude of The Ringer, Saints was asked to grade his run in AEW compared to NXT.
“That’s hard. I loved my run at AEW for all (television) stuff. You can say what you want about the other stuff. If you look at it in totality, I did enjoy it, I just wanted more out of it. I think I would give it a B. I have to remove certain personal things of accomplishments that I wanted that I didn’t necessarily get. I have to remove that. I have to look at what the actual work was. What was actually done. When compared to NXT, I would give my NXT run a B+. We’re edging out an A,” he said.
Saints challenged for the NXT Title in a four-way match at NXT Stand & Deliver, but Tony D’Angelo walked away with gold.
