Starrcast II gets its headlining event.
Thompson told CBS that Flair was supposed to be roasted at the first Starrcast in September, but he was booked for an event in Atlanta. Bruce Prichard took his place as the guest of honor. Ron Funches, who was the roastmaster for Prichard, is set to return for the Roast of Ric. Other comedians set for the event are Dan Soder ("Billions"), Taylor Williamson ("America's Got Talent"), Mike Lawrence (Comedy Central's "Roast Battle") and Dan St. Germain. Ricky Steamboat and Jim Ross are scheduled to be part of the roast as well with surprise guests also being teased.
"There is going to be a handful of wrestling people there, but Ric sort of transcends pop culture, so we are going to have more mainstream roasters from outside the wrestling sector," Thompson said. "The comedians are itching for the chance to carve up not just Ric but our dais as well. We are excited to have some fun, but some of these guys, they are not going for laughs. They are going for gasps."
