WWE engaged fans on social media by asking the simple question, "Who is the first WWE Superstar you think of when you see this logo?"
The logo in question is the original SmackDown logo.
The Rock was by far the most common answer from fans. But The Rock himself gave a different answer.
Well clearly the dude who coined the name Smackdown in the first place and eventually, made it so famous it’s now in the Webster’s dictionary...and his name is Downtown Bruno ------

Downtown Bruno is better known to many wrestling fans as Harvey Wippleman. Wippleman is a longtime friend of The Rock, who helped take care of him after he and his mom got evicted off the island of Hawaii. The Rock recently gave back to Wippleman, gifting him with a new vehicle free of crackheads.
SmackDown was named after The Rock's famous use of the term and has always been referred to as The Rock's Show, at least by The Rock himself.
The Rock famously returned to the SmackDown on Fox premiere in October 2019.
