The wrestling world was stunned on January 15, 2020, when Rocky Johnson passed away. Now, his son, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is speaking out to pay tribute to his trailblazing father.
In a very touching Instagram post, Rock honors his father and notes that although he is hurt by the suddenness of his passing, it is just pain and it will pass. Rock would go on to express his relief that his father can finally rest.
The Rock debuted in 1996 and was touted as the first third-generation WWE Superstar. A few short months later, he shared a moment with his father inside the squared circle at WrestleMania 13 in 1997 when both men defending themselves against the attack of The Sultan, played by Rikishi, Bob Backlund, and The Iron Sheik. Rock would also have the honor of inducting his father into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2008.
