Rocky Romero: Forbidden Door Is Probably The Most Difficult Show To Put Together Every Year

Forbidden Door is tasking to present, as said by Rocky Romero.
All Elite Wrestling joins together yearly with New Japan Pro-Wrestling to present the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. World Wonder Ring STARDOM and CMLL have joined the mix as well.
There’s an interview that AEW front office member and NJPW liaison Rocky Romero did with Pep Shop Collectibles. He stated that Forbidden Door is probably the most difficult show to put together every year.
“This is probably the most difficult show to put together every year,” Romero said about Forbidden Door. “No matter how much pre-planning you can do… the first Forbidden Door was injuries. I think we still had — you know, we were dealing with COVID a little bit… That wasn’t an easy show to put together but we definitely got through it and it ended up being really great, and obviously the next year. But yeah, this is a show that no matter what you do, how much planning you could do, there’s always gonna be some kind of monkey wrench thrown into it, and you know, there was one year, I think it was two years ago, where we just had injury after injury after injury so, plans kept changing and changing and changing and then it was like, ‘There’s only so much you could do…’ Going into that too, we have to appease each company. If they’re gonna send a talent, that talent might be challenging for the World Title around the same time in their home promotion so, maybe that’s not a great matchup to go against this person or that person. There’s so many things that go into it, that you have to think about and respect and honor for your partners, but also trying to get the best group of people together for the fans, for Forbidden Door so, it’s a really difficult event to put on. But that’s also what makes it unique.”
