ROH Announces Women's Division Wednesday; Weekly Women's Bouts To Be Spotlighted

Ring of Honor has announced the next phase in the re-establishment of their women's division.

Recently, Maria Kanellis-Bennett announced that this summer there would be a tournament to Crown a new Ring of Honor Women's Champion. Initially, there was a tournament to be held the crown of a new champion but It ultimately was put on hold after the emergence of the global pandemic.

Now, with the tournament on the horizon, Ring of Honor has announced the advent of Women's Division Wednesdays. As it was stated by Quinn McKay on the latest ROH Week By Week, there will be weekly matches showcasing old and new faces to Ring of Honor's women's division with the matches giving talent a chance to showcase why they deserve entry into the tournament.

ROH'S WOMEN'S DIVISION RETURNS WITH A NEW MATCH EVERY WEDNESDAY ON YOUTUBE

ROH Board of Directors member Maria Kanellis-Bennett announced at the 19th Anniversary pay-per-view last month that there will be a tournament this summer to crown an ROH Women’s World Champion. However, fans won’t have to wait that long to see the return of the women’s division.

Beginning April 28, ROH will present Women’s Division Wednesday on ROH’s YouTube channel. There will be a new women’s match every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Eastern featuring newcomers as well as ROH veterans.

No participants for the championship tournament have been announced, so all of the competitors in Women’s Division Wednesday matches will be out to prove that they deserve to be part of the field.

In the past, Ring of Honor has had a Women of Honor World Championship. However, Kelly Klein and Ring of Honor have gone their separate ways with Klein suing Ring of Honor following her exit. Learn more here.
