ROH World TV Champion Jeff Cobb Becomes NEVER Openweight Champion At NJPW/ROH G1 Supercard

Jeff Cobb is now a double champion.

The opening contest of the main card for New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor's G1 Supercard show saw Jeff Cobb put his ROH World Television Championship on the line against Will Ospreay who put his NEVER Openweight Championship on the line in a title versus title match. Jeff Cobb was able to get the best of Opsreay after a back and forth match between the two men and now Cobb is holding both ROH and NJPW gold.

It was pointed out on commentary that former NEVER Openweight Champion Taichi is due a shot at the NEVER Title seeing as how he pinned Will Ospreay during the New Japan Cup tournament and now Jeff Cobb has to watch his back as he has challengers coming from Ring Of Honor and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

To kick off G1 Supercard, Kenny King won the Honor Rumble match and earned a shot at the ROH World Title and making appearances in that match were Haku and The Great Muta. For more on the Honor Rumble match, check out Fightful's published article about the topic.
