Rohan Raja Recalls Andrade El Idolo’s Pants Moment At MLP Northern Rising, ‘What A World We’re Living In Today’

Rohan Raja was bewildered by the crowd’s attraction to Andrade El Idolo’s pants.

El Idolo and Raja battled in a singles contest at MLP Northern Rising on October 3. Before the match, the crowd was electric, eagerly anticipating Andrade’s signature tear-away pants reveal.

Speaking with Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast, Rohan Raja recalled his reaction to the moment.

“I mean, I think Tommaso Ciampa got the very mystical powers of the pants for sure. I consider myself a little bit lucky. I don’t know what it is, but there’s something even when he’s just walking around, the crowd just are like drawn to it. The crowd are just straight up drawn to a man’s pants. If you take a step back, I’m in the ring and obviously you’re listening to everything. I just kinda of stopped, it was maybe like a millisecond but it felt like a ten seconds, just letting it register. I’m like, there’s probably about maybe 5,000 people screaming to take his pants off. What a world we’re living in today. Nowhere else but wrestling you could hear that.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Raja spoke about his relationship with Bret Hart. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
