Roman Reigns And Edge Announced For Six-Man Tag Team Match On 7/16 WWE SmackDown

Another match has been announced for the July 16 episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

Tensions between Edge and Roman Reigns grew following the July 9 edition of WWE SmackDown. The two men came to blows in the ring, but the Rated R Superstar was soon outnumbered when the Usos came to their cousin's defence. Rey and Dominik Mysterio soon evened the odds, though, clearly not over Roman's recent attacks on them.

Jinder Mahal Says He Found Out About WWE Raw Day 1 Segment With The Rock A Day Or Two In Advance

The segment ended with Edge locking Jey Uso into a submission hold, the same way he did to Reigns at WrestleMania and Jimmy Uso last week.

On the most recent episode of Talking Smack, Kayla Braxton and Pat McAfee revealed that Reigns and The Usos will face Edge and the Mysterios in a six-man tag team match on July 16. Next week's episode of WWE SmackDown will mark the first WWE weekly television event with fans in attendance since the pandemic forced the company to move into the Performance Center in March 2020 and then the ThunderDome in August 2020.

Edge is set to face Reigns for the WWE Universal Title at Money in the Bank on Sunday, July 18.

Here is the current lineup for next Friday's SmackDown:

WWE SmackDown - July 16

- SmackDown Women's Championship: Bianca Belair (c) vs. Carmella
- Kevin Owens vs. Seth Rollins vs. Big E vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
- 6-Man Tag Team Match: Roman Reigns & The Usos vs. Edge, Rey Mysterio & Dominik Mysterio
