Rousey worked with WWE for two runs, first making her debut in the run up to WrestleMania 34 in 2018 before returning for a second run in 2022, competing at WrestleMania 38 in a bout with Charlotte Flair. She would step away from WWE once again following this run, and is scheduled to return to MMA this weekend where she will fight Gina Carano.

While speaking to Complex in a new interview, Ronda Rousey was asked about her time in WWE, with the MMA fighter noting that she felt like she was ‘doing somebody else’s impression’ of herself in the company.

“I felt like I was doing somebody else’s impression of myself. You can tell when I was allowed to write my own promos and when I wasn’t, I learned a lot from it and I really enjoyed my time in the ring. I didn’t really enjoy being under the death throes of Vince McMahon’s reign, but there were a lot of great experiences in there.”

Elsewhere in another interview, Rousey spoke about her appearance earlier this year with AEW. You can read more about that here.
