Ryan Bader compliments The Rock’s portrayal of Mark Kerr in ‘The Smashing Machine’.
In ‘The Smashing Machine’ the story of former UFC and PRIDE fighter Mark Kerr will be taken to the big screen, with The Rock playing Kerr in the movie, while Bader plays Mark Coleman, Kerr’s close friend and rival.
While speaking to The Sportster in a new interview, Ryan Bader spoke about The Rock’s performance as Mark Kerr in ‘The Smashing Machine’ noting that Rock ‘killed it’.
“Yeah, I think that’s one thing that helped, you know, kind of calm nerves and everything for me going on set. I’m looking at Mark Kerr, you know, I’m not looking at the man known as The Rock, right? You know, he has his prosthetics. He- you know, four hours of makeup, prosthetics, hair, all that kind of stuff. That made it a little easier. I got to see him in the scenes we were in, and he did a fantastic job. But I never got to see the whole thing, you know. So when we were in the theater and I got to watch it, he did an unbelievable job. You know, just everything from, you know, his scenes with Emily to being in the locker room and the look in his face and his eyes, it felt real. It felt like you were in that moment, like about to walk out for a fight. Yeah, he killed it.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Mark Kerr also spoke about the movie and The Rock’s performance. You can read more about that here.
