Ryohei Oiwa Wins NJPW G1 Climax 36 Tournament, Challenging For IWGP Heavyweight Title At King Of Pro-Wrestling

Ryohei Oiwa comes out on top.
The conclusion of New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s G1 Climax 36 tournament took place, and it was Ryohei Oiwa and Yuya Uemura clashing in the final.
In what was a back-and-forth brawl, Oiwa came out on top and submitted his opponent to win the G1 Climax tourney.
Post-match, Oiwa went on to announce that he’ll be challenging for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship at King of Pro-Wrestling on October 12th.
The current IWGP Heavyweight Champion is Yota Tsuji. King of Pro-Wrestling is taking place at Ryōgoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo, the same location where Oiwa defeated Uemura to win the G1.
