Sam Adonis comments on Dominik Mysterio’s ability as a heel in professional wrestling in both AAA and WWE.

Since AAA was acquired by WWE last year, Mysterio has been a part of the company, and is the current AAA Mega champion. Now, a staple of AAA programming has spoken about Dominik’s ability.

While speaking to Bill Apter in a new interview, Sam Adonis was asked about Mysterio, with Adonis discussing Dominik’s ability as a heel.

“So I actually- I met Dominik Mysterio when he was 16 years old in Mexico City. He was actually down there with some friends or family, but he was randomly at a party, and I walked into the party and they said, ‘hey, Rey’s son’s here.’ I said, ‘what? Why? Why is Rey’s son here?’ Anyway, we met. He was a super respectful, good kid at the time. I have not seen him since in person. But I absolutely love his work in AAA. I love his work in WWE. He’s, in my opinion, the best heel in the company. I think he’s somebody that’s doing it right. He’s actually a heel. He’s fully embracing the legacy of his father as well as embracing the history and tradition of Lucha Libre.”

Sam was then asked if Dominik needs a mask while wrestling in Mexico, noting that he ‘absolutely does not.’

“No, absolutely not. Mexico, the fans there really, really embrace the sport more than we do here. So much so that they’re not necessarily as easily offended. They want somebody to hate. You know, they really, really enjoy the people that go out there and give it hard. But they love his dad. They love his dad. They absolutely detest him. But it’s great to be able to get the fans involved, and I think especially considering his age, he’s got a huge future ahead of him.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, Adonis spoke about three potential dream matches for him in the world of pro wrestling. You can read more about that here.
