Sammy Guevara Believes He And Jungle Boy Can Have An Insane Match, Wants To Start Focusing On Titles

Sammy Guevara is ready to start focusing on what really matters in wrestling, the championships.

Sammy Guevara has, in many ways, been the linchpin in the rivalry between The Pinnacle and the Inner Circle. Being the first of the Inner Circle members to not trust Maxwell Jacob Friedman, Sammy was even booted out of the Inner Circle group for a short length of time.

Now, as the rivalry between the two factions looks to come to a head at AEW Double Or Nothing on Sunday, May 30 comment Sammy Guevara is looking towards the horizon and what may be next for him regardless of whether or not the inner circle is forced to disband following the Stadium Stampede bout against The Pinnacle.

Speaking with Bleacher Report, Sammy Guevara says he is ready to start going after singles gold in AEW.

"I'm definitely a goal-oriented person. My goal has always been to be the world champion and I said that on the first episode of Dynamite. I try to give people a good show and show that I can perform at the highest levels against guys like Kenny Omega and Hardy."

He continued, "I feel like this feud has been going on for so long that I lost sight of some of my goals," he said. "I want to get back on track and what I feel is my destiny, and that is becoming the champion."

When asked who he thinks he can have a good match with from some of the crop of talent that he has yet to work in AEW, he singled out one name: Jungle Boy.

Keeping it simple, Guevara said, "Jungle Boy. I think he and I would have an insane matchup."

Prior to the Blood & Guts Match on May 5, Sammy Guevara spoke to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp. Check out the full interview here.
