Sammy Guevara Was More Nervous For Tay Melo's Pregnancy Reveal Than AEW Double Or Nothing Match

Sammy Guevara recalls the emotional moment when he and Tay Melo announced her pregnancy at AEW Double or Nothing.

At the pay-per-view on May 28, Guevara challenged MJF for the AEW World Championship in a four-way match that also included Darby Allin and "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry. Tay Melo, Guevara's wife, came out with him for his entrance, and the couple announced that they were expecting their first child together.

Speaking with TMZ Sports, Guevara and Melo reflected on the memorable announcement, and the former TNT Champion noted that he was more nervous for the pregnancy reveal than he was for the match. Guevara also noted that he was filled with emotions, both due to the weight of the world title match and the special news he knew he was about to share.

"I was personally more excited for the entrance. I feel like we were like opposite. She was more nervous for me for the match, and I was more nervous, excited for the entrance. I had to snap out of it. I almost started crying. It was just very surreal. Us four young guys, wrestling for the world title and then right before that, going out there and announcing we're having a baby," Guevara said.

Guevara also noted that the fans are coming around on the duo and supporting them again. He stated that they hadn't always been the most loved people, but seeing the way everyone seemed happy for them was quite special.

"The crowd's coming back around on me. We were not always the most loved people out there. For them to give us that big reaction. Everyone's happy, showing us the love. It was just like, overwhelming in a way where I was like, ok, we gotta get back into it," Guevara said.

In the interview, Melo expressed her intent to travel with Guevara while she's unable to wrestle, but she plans to return to action as soon as possible.
