Samoa Joe has high praise for Santos Escobar.
Joe made history at NXT TakeOver 36, becoming the first-ever three-time NXT Champion when he defeated Karrion Kross.
On the subsequent episode of NXT, a host of challengers confronted Joe. Though Santos Escobar was not part of the line of challengers, Joe is more than welcoming should Santos want to step up.
"I open the doors to everyone, it's time for them to stop looking and start acting. I didn't see him show when he should, but I always want to fight the best regardless of whether they are Mexicans or of any nationality, if it is worthy of challenging me for the championship, of course I give the option to Santos and all those who want to put themselves to the test," Joe told Mediotiempo. "He is an exceptional talent, comes from a family fighting legacy and knows perfectly well about this business. He has the Mexican school, he is athletic, agile, he knows how to fly, but he has also understood what we are looking for in WWE, he shows personality and charisma, he is definitely one of the best in NXT, not for nothing did he already have a championship."
Escobar is a former NXT Cruiserweight Champion and is currently feuding with NXT North American Champion Isaiah "Swerve" Scott.
Fightful has live coverage of NXT beginning at 8 p.m. ET every Tuesday.
