Samoa Joe Thought He Was Being Robbed During A Poker Game With AJ Styles & Christopher Daniels

Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels sit down for a friendly game of high stakes poker. What happens next?

As Samoa Joe recalled on WWE After The Bell, a prank that nearly ended with a man getting his face bashed in.

The Rock Thanks Gallus For Helping Him Train Ahead Of WrestleMania XL

"We were doing a show in the UK and myself, AJ Styles, and Christopher Daniels were involved in a long-term poker game in which the stakes had grown to considerable amounts. After a very successful merch night between the three of us, we're playing poker, and I feel something hit me as we're playing. Something hit me from behind," recalled Joe. "I look up and AJ is sitting across from me. In my head, I'm thinking someone tried to come and rob the game. I look at AJ and go, 'Was that legit?' And AJ, who normally would be like 'it's whatever' goes, 'Get em!' In my head, I'm thinking this guy tried to come, hit me, rob the game and he ran away when I didn't go down. I rush down the hall and I see this guy running, I catch up with him, and -- this part I'm a little fuzzy on -- as it's been described to me by [Corey Graves], Abyss, Daniels, and AJ; I grabbed him by the throat, lifted him off the ground, had him up against the wall and was preparing to launch serval rounds of punches into his face when the hotel staff had informed me that the police were on the way. They finally peeled my hands off his throat and we calmed down. It was a prank gone wrong, but in the grand scheme of cosmic justice, this gentleman turned out to be a very, very, very, large piece of human excrement. For several things, including stealing from locker rooms and I think he's behind bars now. Very stupid individual, probably not the best response from myself. I'm very particular about cats trying to rob me."

Joe did not name the individual who attempted the prank gone wrong.

Elsewhere on the podcast, Joe discussed his time at the WWE Raw commentary table. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
