Santos Escobar explains why he answered the call and helped Tony D'Angelo on the August 1 episode of WWE NXT.
D'Angelo teased that he called an old friend on the August 1 episode of WWE NXT. The mystery man turned out to be Santos Escobar, who teamed up with The Family (Tony D'Angelo and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo) to defeat Gallus (Mark Coffey, Joe Coffey, and Wolfgang). Escobar previously had a heated rivalry with D'Angelo, but they apparently put their differences aside.
In an NXT Exclusive, Escobar, D'Angelo, and Lorenzo were asked about their victory. Kelly Kincaid noted that Escobar answered the call when D'Angelo called him.
"That I did. These two gentlemen, let me tell you something, our history may not be the best, we have a past. But when you called me, you said you needed to handle business, I remember one thing, the one thing that your family and my familia share is that we both love and respect the business. So when you called me, I showed up," Escobar said.
Escobar offered D'Angelo his hand. "The Don of NXT" said their past issues were water under the bridge, and he shook his hand. "Stacks" said that Escobar could fight with his family any time, and Escobar noted that the feeling was mutual.
On the August 11 episode of WWE SmackDown, Escobar will challenge for the United States Championship. More information is available here.
