Santos Escobar Wants To Have A Match With Sean Waltman, WWE Hall Of Famer Responds

Santos Escobar has cordially requested to share the ring with Sean Waltman.

The Legado Del Fantasma leader defeated Jordan Devlin in a Ladder Match at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver to become the Undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion. After the bout, Sean Waltman sent out a congratulatory Tweet. Escobar responded, calling Waltman a legend and said, "please allow me to share the squared circle with you should you decide to have #OneMoreMatch."

The former 1-2-3 Kid recently underwent knee surgery and has openly stated that he's hoping it allows him to have one final run in the world of wrestling. Last month he spoke with Sports Illustrated and said, “I’d be psyched to have more matches in a WWE ring. If they’re not interested, there are a lot of other places putting on great matches, too.”

Waltman saw Escorbar's offer and replied by offering to have a conversation about it once he is medically cleared to compete.

On Tuesday, April 6, WWE aired their Hall of Fame ceremony for the classes of 2020 and 2021. Waltman was inducted as one of the original members of the nWo. During his time in WCW, he performed as Syxx. This is the second time Waltman has been honored, previously being inducted for his work as X-Pac in D-Generation X.

Waltman spoke about his time at the Hall of Fame ceremony on the debut episode of his new Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast. You can find his comments here.
