From 1995 to 2001, WWE and WCW would be locked in a ratings war as both RAW and Nitro aired on Monday Nights, and is seen as one of the hottest periods in professional wrestling history. The war would end in 2001, where WWE would buy out WCW and absorbed many of their roster.

While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Scott Steiner was asked about his transition to WWE after WCW folded, noting that while he was all right, he’d rather have been with WCW still.

“I mean, it was all right. I wouldn’t say it was, you know, I’d rather have been at WCW. I wish it wouldn’t have folded. Yeah, well, then it’s a monopoly then. It’s only one game in town. So it was good for them. Well, actually, it wasn’t good for them because they lost the ratings too, you know? Because when the ratings wars were going on, it was great. You know, we were getting like an eight-share, seven-share going against each other, and then when that got taken away, their show went down, too, also.”

Elsewhere in an interview last year, Scott spoke about potentially working with Bron Breakker in WWE. You can read more about that here.
