The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament gets underway on January 13.
On the NXT New Year's Evil broadcast, a graphic announced that joining Adam Cole and Roderick Strong in the 2021 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament will be the following teams:
* Ever-Rise
* August Grey and Curt Stallion
* Breezango
* IMPERIUM
* Killian Dain and Drake Maverick
On commentary, The Grizzled Young Veterans, Zack Gibson and James Drake, were shown in the audience and Vic Joseph said on commentary that you have to believe the former NXT UK Tag Team Champions would be favorites to win the tournament, however, they were not included in the graphic announcing the tag teams.
Later in the evening, Johnny Gargano announced that he and Austin Theory were entering the tournament.
The first-round will begin next week on January 13, with Adam Cole and Roderick Strong competing against Tyler Breeze and Fandango. In a backstage promo, Adam Cole said that he expects Undisputed ERA to win the tournament and once again fulfill their golden prophecy.
