Shane Helms Set To Work Last Scheduled Match This Saturday In CHIKARA

The end might be near for Shane "Hurricane" Helms.

Shane Helms announced on social media that he is set to work his last scheduled match, and potentially his last match ever, this Saturday. The match will take place at CHIKARA‘s Fright Knight in Poconos Summit, Pennsylvania. Helms will team with Razerhawk, Fire Ant, and Solo Darling to take on Cajun Crawdaddy, Rory Gulak, Callux, and El Hijo del Ice Cream.

Helms began wrestling at the age of 17 under the Southern Wrestling Alliance banner before joining The Hardy Boyz in OMEGA in the late 90s. He is a former WCW and WWE Cruiserweight Champion, two-time WWE World Tag Team Champion, and WWE European Champion. He also beat The Rock in 2003.

He is best known for his "Hurricane" gimmick, where he played a superhero.

Helms joined WWE as a producer in January but has continued to take a handful of Independent bookings. He teamed with Jushin Liger & X-Pac at WrestleCon over WrestleMania weekend and stated he had to "beg" WWE to be part of the match.

He did make a surprise appearance in the 2018 Royal Rumble and while he hinted at Saturday potentially being his last match ever, this is professional wrestling.
