Shane Strickland Confirms Date For His Final Match On The Independent Wrestling Scene

"Swerve" wants one last hoorah before he embarks on a new journey.

Former MLW, EVOLVE, Lucha Underground, CZW and DEFY Wrestling Champion Shane "Swerve" Strickland's time on the independent wrestling scene is coming to an end as he confirmed in a recent video that was shared via The Wrestling Revolver's Twitter page that on April 6th at The Wrestling Revolver's 'Pancakes and Piledrivers 3' event in New York City, he will have his final match on the independents. Shane Strickland has requested that he team up with Eddie Kingston and Joe Gacy against oVe (Sami Callihan, Jake Crist and Dave Crist) in the main event of the show and here's what "Swerve" said as a whole in the video below:

Karrion Kross: Black And Gold Never Dies

“Well, I’m gonna be real with you people for a little bit… I don’t have a lot of time here left, and by here, I mean the independent wrestling scene, and with that being said, I owe a lot to one place for getting me into the position that I am right now, and that’s The Wrestling Revolver. For our generation, by our generation. That’s a motto that I live by and that's been put down on me from my mentors, from my brothers: Sami Callihan, Jake and Dave Crist, The Rascalz, my brothers, Jason Cage, Rich Swann, Matt Palmer. We started a movement that has changed the landscape of professional wrestling as we speak, and without that, I wouldn’t be in this opportunity now to be speaking with you all." Shane said. "Look at the history. Look at the people that I’ve faced in this ring at The Wrestling Revolver that help build me: Me versus Ricochet, Ms versus Jason [Kincaid], the Cage Of Horrors match, versus Larry D., versus Tommy Dreamer you name it. I wouldn’t be Shane ‘Swerve’ Strickland without The Wrestling Revolver’ so with that being said, I’m gonna ask for one thing because I don’t ask for much. Shane Strickland does not ask for much in this business but I’m gonna ask you for one thing: I want you to come to my final appearance on the independent wrestling scene, April 6th, Pancakes and Piledrivers, The Wrestling Revolver. Lets sell this b*tch out, and oh, one more thing, lets make that six man tag, The Unwanted of Joe Gacy and Eddie Kingston and myself versus oVe." Strickland requested. "Lets put that in the main event. Lets burn this place down with that as the main event as my final match in independent wrestling against my brothers. The Wrestling Revolver's Pancakes and Piledrivers -- Swerve’s final appearance. Whose house? Swerve’s house."

Shane Strickland announced his free agency in January and several weeks ago, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that Shane is set to report to the WWE Performance Center two days after WrestleMania 35. Fightful has a running list of the independent shows of WrestleMania week and that list can be viewed over at our "events" page.
