Shawn Michaels Addresses Saying 2026 Would Be Breakout Year For Wren Sinclair: “I Think 2027 Is Gonna Be Unlike Anything Else”

Wren Sinclair is on the receiving end of praise from Shawn Michaels.

Back in December 2025, NXT overseer Shawn Michaels was making the media rounds, and he stated that Wren Sinclair would have a breakout year in 2026.

With half of 2026 in the books, Michaels told Busted Open that he may have been off by a year or a couple of months regarding Sinclair’s trajectory. He added that he does think Sinclair has had a great 2026. He said Sinclair is so valuable to NXT.

“It was probably almost a year ago at this time, but, I kind of said that I felt like Wren Sinclair was gonna have a breakout year, and I will say this: It’s only going to get stronger, because to me, Wren’s a sleeper, to me. We have so many different aspects to our women’s roster and sometimes it’s challenging to not get lost in the shuffle but she’s somebody that — I don’t wanna say anything or divulge too much or anything else but, I might have missed it by maybe a year or a couple months because I feel this has been somewhat of a breakout for Wren. I think 2027’s gonna be unlike anything else because to your point, she’s very talented. She brings a different aspect to our women’s roster that not a lot of people bring… She is so valuable to us in backstages and being able to be a conduit between — for instance, at one time, it was the N.Q.C.C. and their opponents and now it’s with Kendal (Grey) and her opponents… Once you’re in that role as kind of — whatever you wanna say — the sidekick or the best friend, those things obviously result in a pretty darn good experience for that individual, so I have no doubt that that’s exactly what’s gonna happen for Wren because she’s an unbelievably talented young lady and I think she brings something extra special to where it’s not the same, I think, that you get from a lot of our ladies these days.”
