Shayna Wayne Attacks Adam Copeland, Helps Christian Cage Retain TNT Title On 12/6 AEW Dynamite

Christian Cage beat Adam Copeland, but he had a little help.

On the December 6 episode of AEW Dynamite, Christian Cage defended the TNT Championship against Adam Copeland. The bout marked the first time Copeland and Cage had faced each other in a title match in 22 years. Before Wednesday, they had not clashed since 2010.

The former tag team partners battled it out in front of an electric crowd in Montreal on Wednesday. Given their extensive history, it was not surprising to see the two foes counter each other throughout the bout. In the closing moments, Cage hit referee Bryce Remsberg below the belt. Copeland and Cage then took each other out with a double Spear.

Shayna Wayne, Nick Wayne's mom, came down to the ring. She grabbed the title and initially teased hitting Cage before she blasted Copeland.

Cage then dropped Copeland with the Killswitch. To add insult to injury, he stomped on Copeland's neck while he was on top of the title. Cage then pinned Copeland to score his second-ever televised win over him.

Copeland previously blasted Nick Wayne with a con-chair-to in front of Shayna on the November 22 episode of AEW Dynamite.
