Shelton Benjamin On Not Being Able To Do Much On WWE Television: "For Me, It's Just Frustrating"

Shelton Benjamin is not feeling great about his current spot in WWE.

For weeks, Benjamin has been wrestling primarily on WWE's Main Event program and not featured prominently on Raw the brand he wrestles for. Not counting an appearance at the Royal Rumble, where he quickly got eliminated by Brock Lesnar, Benjamin has only had three matches on Raw and three on SmackDown since 2019.

Tommaso Ciampa Walks Out Of DIY Interview After Loss On 4/22 WWE Raw

When Benjamin appeared on "Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia" podcast, Benjamin said he was reluctant to do the interview because he wasn't exactly at a high point in his pro wrestling career, having little television time in WWE for the past year. For Benjamin, it's frustrating not being able to do much on television.

"I was reluctant [on doing this interview] because I always like to put my best foot forward. I like to be in the mix. I like to be producing. I like to inspire people and lately, I haven't been doing much as far as much on-air with the WWE. For me, it's just frustrating. So, when you contacted me to do this interview, my first thought was like, 'I don't even know what to talk about because right now, I'm not really doing anything. I'm not really doing anything that's fulfilling to me.' I'm here every week, I'm ready to go. For me, it's like when I watch shows like this, the show's called 'Chasing Glory,' it's like people are chasing something. Right now, I don't even feel like I'm on the hunt, not that I don't want to be. That just frustrates me on a personal level," Benjamin said.

Immediately afterwards, Benjamin revealed that he signed a multi-year deal with the company and so, expressed some level of hope that things could change for the better as he will still be there for a while.
