Smackdown 5/8 Viewership Falls For Third Week

Smackdown has lost 400,000 viewers over the last three weeks.

The Money in the Bank qualifying matches started this week on WWE and the fallout from the WWE Backlash pay-per-view. The ratings for Raw and Smackdown have been slipping. According to ShowBuzz Daily, Smackdown this week had just under 2.3 million viewers and only 710 thousand viewers in the 18 to 49 year old demographic.

Once again the NBA Playoffs out performed WWE Smackdown in demographics and average viewers. Both games were ranked higher than Smackdown including the one in the same time slot. While the playoffs have been going on for a few weeks the ratings have been slowly falling since WrestleMania.

On the WWE YouTube, only one video had more than 1 million viewers which was the main event match between Daniel Bryan and Rusev which Rusev won and qualified for the Money in the Bank ladder match. Otherwise, another Money in the Bank qualifier between Jeff Hardy and The Miz had over 900 thousand views. The qualifying match between Charlotte Flair and Peyton Royce earned more than 400 thousand viewers.
