Sonya Deville: I Pitched An Idea To Work With Ronda Rousey But She Didn't Have Enough Time

Sonya Deville was hoping to work with Ronda Rousey.

Ronda Rousey worked with my talents during her one-year run in WWE, but she never shared the ring with Sonya Deville for a match. A bout between the two would have seemed like a sure thing given their respective background in MMA, but it never came to fruition. And it wasn't for lack of trying on Deville's part.

"As soon as Ronda got hired, I thought, 'It's a match made.' The story is already written," Deville told Barn Burner Radio. "There's no work to really do. I actually pitched it to Triple H while she was still [in WWE], but it didn't happen. She didn't have enough time. When she comes back, I look forward to wrestling her because I think we can do some special stuff."

The two did come to blows in small segments during Rousey's run, but that was the extent of their interactions. Rousey has not been seen in WWE since losing in the main event of WrestleMania 35.

It's unknown if Rousey will return to the ring, but Deville wouldn't be the only one who would welcome her back. Becky Lynch recently told Fightful that she still wants to face Rousey in a one-on-one bout. You can view her comments by clicking here.
