Speedball Mike Bailey reflects on his TNT title bout with Kevin Knight on this past week’s edition of AEW Dynamite.

Since AEW Double Or Nothing, Kevin Knight and Speedball’s tag team, Jet Speed, has been split and on the most recent edition of AEW Dynamite last week, the pair would meet in a one on one match where Knight would score the victory thanks to an assist from the Don Callis Family.

While speaking in his latest vlog, Speedball Mike Bailey reflected on his TNT Championship bout with Kevin Knight.

“I’m a sad man. Write whatever you want about me. So tonight was rough. It felt great to be out there with Kevin in the ring. We wrestled before and man, again, he continues to be impressive and good and so explosive. And the last time we had a match was during the Continental Classic, and I remember I won that match, and I was so proud afterwards. So proud of the match, so proud of what we did, so proud of how good we were, and I don’t feel that way right now. It’s hard. Objectively, I know that I could feel those things. I should feel those things because, you know, just like every time, right? I am an excellent pro wrestler, friends. I know this. I’ve worked my whole life to be a great pro wrestler, and I think I am one, and when I’m in the ring, doing my thing, and people are cheering, and things are going the way I want them to, I feel great, and no matter the result, I’m usually able to walk away with that, but not today. Today is different, because Kevin has joined the Don Callis family, and I’m gonna say this, I’m gonna say it only once on the vlog, cause I don’t wanna say it too much, I don’t wanna wear it out, but it needs to be said because it’s important, and so please, please hear me when I say this. Fuck Don Callis. It’s just not just a thing to say. It’s a great thing to chant, and I appreciate you all saying it. But he is a bad person. I cannot imagine what went on in Kevin’s head. That he would be like, ‘do you know what I need? I need to join the Don Callis Family.’ This is really what’s going to help me. Again, like there was part of me that obviously disagreed, but kind of understood what Kevin was doing, where he felt he was going with his career, right? You need to be alone. You need to try something different. Fine by me. You need to get in touch with the dark side and you feel like that will help unleash your full potential? Okay. Go for it. Do what you need to do. I’m not going to help you. I’m not going to support you, but I will understand why you’re doing it. That is a thing that makes sense to me. But joining the Don Callis Family, to me, is a decision that just makes no sense at all. I’m trying, I’m trying to put myself, I’m trying to lead with grace and empathy and put myself in Kevin’s mind and think, what would lead me to look at these guys and think, ‘oh, this is where I need to be,’ right? I mean… Andrade’s doing great. Kyle Fletcher’s doing great. But we’ve beat a lot of the guys in the Don Callis Family. We beat the Don Callis Family before. We won the Trios Championship with Mistico from the Don Callis Family, and I don’t know, in my experience, in all the matches that we’ve had, Don Callis has done nothing to impress me. But I mean, so here’s the thing. Tonight, Kevin won. He won the match. He did. I don’t think it was a good victory. I don’t think he should be proud of that victory. In fact, I would hope that he feels ashamed of that victory. But he is the TNT champion, and I am not, and that is because of Don Callis. Thank you all so much for your support. I’m incredibly grateful. I will never take for granted every nice thing that is said about me. Every message of support that I received will always go directly to my heart and make me happy. But in AEW right now, I feel alone.”
