Speedball Mike Bailey says that his upcoming match with Amazing Red is twenty years in the making and a match with him is 20 years in the making.
On May 1st, Amazing Red and Bailey will go one on one at House Of Glory: Glory At The Globe for the first time ever. For Bailey, this is a match that is over 20 years in the making.
While speaking to Undisputed in a new interview, Speedball Mike Bailey spoke about Amazing Red’s innovation, noting that he changed the way he viewed wrestling.
“Amazing Red was an early creator of the style that I love. Super influential and innovative, especially mixing the martial arts with the high-flying. Seeing him changed the way I viewed wrestling.”
Speedball then recalled one of the first independent wrestling videos that he watched featuring Amazing Red.
“An Amazing Red highlight video set to ‘Faint’ by Linkin Park. That was one of the first pieces of independent wrestling videos I ever saw. I know a lot of the high-flyers of my generation can relate.”
Finally, Speedball noted that the match is now 20 years in the making.
“To me, it feels like a match that’s twenty years in the making. It’s a match I’ve wanted for a long time. I’m excited that it’s going to happen now while I’m on one of the hottest runs of my career.”
