Stephanie McMahon Reflects On Roman Reigns' Leukemia Announcement, Says It Was Empowering

Stephanie offers her thoughts on the heartbreaking news.

This past Monday the news that took over the wrestling world was Roman Reigns announcing that his Leukemia that was in remission for eleven years has returned and he has to step away from the ring and relinquish the WWE Universal Championship to go fight this cancer off once again. The announcement sucked the life out of the 'Dunkin Donuts Center' in Providence, Rhode Island and sent the wrestling world on Twitter into a frenzy. Despite the madness of the situation,"The Big Dog" received tons of love from fans, peers, fellow WWE colleagues, wrestlers, companies and promotions who all want to see Roman overcome this battle once again.

Following Roman's announcement WWE released footage of Roman being shown love from the likes of Natalya, Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Titus O'Neil, Finn Balor and the majority of the WWE locker room.

WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon was another individual who showed support for Reigns and she did that while speaking to the media from the WWE offices in New York to promote 'Evolution' on Sunday.

(Quotes by way of Sky Sports)

"It was a very inspiring, empowering and real moment for all of us. The outpouring of support from all of WWE has been incredible. What's most touching is some of the kids we'd worked with as part of pediatric awareness month, Roman had been part of meeting these kids and bringing them to the show, and they created a video for Roman, these kids - fighting cancer - saying, 'You can do it Roman, we're in this with you, you can do this'." An emotional McMahon said: "I have no doubt that Roman Reigns, Joe Anoa'i, is going to beat this again."
