Steve Maclin: Matt Cardona Is One Of My Close Friends Outside Of Wrestling And He’s Somebody That I Go To For Advice

Steve Maclin comments on Matt Cardona.

Maclin and Cardona shared the ring on an episode of TNA Impact back in April 2025.

Speaking with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Maclin recalled a conversation he had with Cardona at Epcot. Maclin also feels that he and Cardona could’ve done more in TNA.

“Obviously he was like, ‘I’m so pumped for you.’ We were at Epcot walking around together and doing Disney Day and we were talking about it. He’s like, ‘You pumped for this?’ I’m like, ‘Yeah.’ Of course he’s like, ‘How’s the ankle? How’s that feeling?’ But at the same time, I think we were on the same par where Cardona and I know we’re to go out there and we’re going to kill it. We don’t have to tell each other how to do things. We have that respect factor, especially being in the ring together. I felt he and I had so much mileage we could have done in TNA together, but that didn’t come to fruition. Hopefully at some point that’d be an awesome feud to have because I loved working with Matt and he’s one of my close friends outside of wrestling and he’s somebody that I go to for advice.”
