Sting comments on John Cena’s impending retirement at this weekends WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event.
At this weekend’s WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13th, John Cena will wrestle his final match in the pro wrestling industry as he takes on Gunther in singles competition. Someone who got the opportunity to work with Cena in the mid 2010s was ‘The Icon’ Sting, who memorably teamed with John Cena on an episode of WWE Monday Night RAW.
While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Sting was asked about Cena’s impending retirement, with the former WWE, TNA, WCW and AEW star noting that he is rooting for Cena, and hopes it ‘turns out to be phenomenal’.
“Man, kudos to John. He’s one of the greatest of all time. I love to see it. I’m rooting for him. I’m hoping it turns out to be phenomenal. I’m sure that it will. Yeah, man, I’m always rooting for those older guys, you know. Go Aaron Rodgers.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Sting spoke about his final convention retirement tour. You can read more about that here.
