Konstantine Kyros' concussion lawsuit against WWE is done.
Fightful can confirm that the Supreme Court of Connecticut declined to hear arguments from Kyros in his attempt to resurrect the dismissed concussion lawsuit against WWE.
The courts will now decide how much financial restitution Kyros will have to pay WWE.
In March, it was reported that WWE and Vince McMahon were seeking $573,770.44 in legal fees from attorney Konstantine Kyros. They were also searching for an additional $39,844.00 in fees and costs in connection with their applications following the Second Circuit’s decision.
"We're glad it's finally over,'' Jerry McDevitt, a lawyer for the WWE, told the Associated Press. "We were completely vindicated.''
In September 2020, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit dismissed an appeal by attorney Konstantine Kyros and former WWE wrestlers who claimed the company didn't protect them from head injuries that could have resulted in CTE. Judge Vanessa L. Bryant of the United States District Court of Connecticut originally dismissed the case in September 2018, but Kyros appealed the decision. The dismissal by the U.S. Court of Appeals was an affirmation of the original decision.
In February, Kyros filed a Petition for Writ of Certiorari in the United States Supreme Court to review the Second Circuit Court of Appeals decision affirming the dismissal of the class action lawsuits brought by former WWE wrestlers for neurological injuries they sustained in the ring.
