Swerve Strickland: Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods Have The Ball In Their Court, Which Is What They Always Wanted

Swerve Strickland says Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods are controlling their narrative.

The future of Kingston and Woods is a still considered to be wildly exciting topic for many fans around the world of wrestling. Responding to the possibility that they could join AEW, Swerve Strickland recently told Bootleg Kev that multiple wrestlers want to see the duo end up in the company.

“Oh yeah. There’s a lot of wrestlers that want to see them end up in AEW.”

Strickland went on to say that both Kofi and Xavier are motivated and happy headed into their free agency.

“I talked to them the same day. Kofi took another day to get back to me, but they’re in high spirits. They’re motivated. They’re happy. I feel like they have the ball in their court, which is what they always wanted. They have their ball on the court and they honestly feel like they can control their own narrative. Xavier’s really good at that. Xavier’s really good at controlling the narrative. Kofi is a walking free agent for the first time in his whole career. He was a Hall Of Famer like five years ago. Then, add the world title match of that, he’s the only black wrestler to ever win the world title at Mania. That’s something that, you can’t take that away from him. Never had any negative press on him, never had any issues, never had any suspensions, never fines, never any of this. He’s walking out a role model to a whole generation of kids.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Swerve Strickland talked about Oba Femi and how he should’ve won the world title in his debut match. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
