Swoggle: John Cena Called Me At 3:30 A.M. When My Son Was Born

When it comes to stand up guys, Swoggle knows it doesn’t get much better than John Cena. On TMZ Sports “Inside The Ring“, Swoggle spoke with Branson Quirke and Roger Corral about his relationship with the man who will be retiring on December 13.

“John Cena has always been a very close friend of mine,” Swoggle said. “He called me, wasn’t even a text, he called me at 3:30 a.m. when my son was born just to check in.”

Swoggle continued, “You talk about standup guys, I put him and Kofi [Kingston] here and here. If you have something bad to say, it’s probably you. I’ve always felt that way.”

During the interview, Swoggle said that neither Gunther or LA Knight “need” to be the ones to defeat Cena, but he did indeed prefer that Gunther would be the one. Swoggle, who went by the name Hornswoggle in WWE, had numerous on-air interactions with the 17 time WWE Champion.

Plenty of other topics were discussed including how Swoggle thinks the Hornswoggle character would come across in WWE today.
