On the next episode of Dynamite on TnT, AEW presents Blood and Guts. May 5ths episode promises lots of hard hitting action per the title of the episode. With lots at stake the AEW Superstars will be putting all they've got into the event. For some its personal. Vengeance. Payback. Violent grudges. Broken promises. and Familial blood spilled. Alliances tested. Gold looking better and better and ripe for the taking and all that comes with being a televised champion in the world of Pro Wrestling. Blood and Guts will highlight several AEW Divisions within the company as well as the excited return of Cody Rhodes.
Blood and Guts will highlight Britt Baker. Baker being no stranger to broken bones and blood will certainly be a formidable force walking into Blood and Guts as the top ranked woman this week in AEW. Not far behind is her rival Thunder Rosa. With Hikaru Shida approaching almost one whole year as AEW Women's Champion, still holding strong fighting through each and every competitor is now in the sights of Britt Baker. It'll be interesting to see how Britt Baker leaves Blood and Guts with Rebel by her side… Will she risk too much? Or will Blood and Guts provide the edge over the rest that she needs to do what all others have failed to do for over 335+ days - dethrone Hikaru Shida…
Also set for in ring action at Blood and Guts is a feud of a more personal nature in Cody Rhodes with Arn Anderson versus QT Marshall and The Factory. As the old cliché goes adding insult to injury… This feud is about as personal as it gets while remaining set around Pro Wrestling. When you pave the way for others and they use what you've done and slap you in the face with it. They stab with the knife but not satisfied until they twist said knife and collapse the lung. The very lifeblood seeping out. Blood and Guts will highlight the returning Cody Rhodes as he squares off with his former friend QT Marshall. As the saying goes - to the victor go the spoils!
As far as AEW history, Jon Moxley defined the gold standard to which every AEW World Champion would be measured against. His amazing 270+ day reign as AEW World Champion would come to an end at the hands of Kenny Omega. Never one to forget a slight or to ignore a challenge, Moxley has been fighting his way back up to Omega and that golden standard of the coveted AEW World Championship. Blood and Guts will showcase the former champion in Tag Team action against the current reigning and defending champion. IWGP US Champion Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston will go up against the AEW World Champion Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa with Don Callis. One has to wonder what shape the AEW World Champion will be in after his bout against Rich Swann at IMPACT's recent PPV This is Rebellion. None of these men are strangers to violence in their pursuit of wrestling stardom. Fighting their ways up from the very beginning with no shortcuts being given. These four men are ready for war when they walk into Blood and Guts.
Blood and Guts will also highlight another division which is a cornerstone of the AEW Dynamite program. Blood and Guts will put key focus on their Men's Tag Team Division with a Four Way Tag Team Elimination Match. The match will pit SCU's Kazarian and Daniels against Jurassic Express against Varsity Blonds against The Acclaimed. Eight men will enter and only one team will win. Tag Team and Pro Wrestling experience would suggest one advantage towards SCU. However with hunger and TV time a different advantage of size and speed could be in favor of Jurassic Express. While all teams are vying for the number one contender position to challenge The Young Bucks for the AEW World Tag Team Titles. The coveted seat of the AEW Tag Team Division.
As cards are always subject to change and most especially during a pandemic, one has to wonder what The Pinnacle and The Inner Circle will have in store for Blood and Guts? Not to mention the reigning TnT Champion Darby Allin or The Dark Order? The AEW World Tag Team Champions? Tickets for Blood and Guts are on sale now for live crowd attendance.
