Taiji Ishimori Believes The IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Triple Threat At MSG Is "Can't Miss"

Taiji Ishimori is excited for his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title Bout at G1 Supercard.

This Saturday, Taiji Ishimori will defend his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Title against Bandido and Dragon Lee in a triple threat match. The match came together at NJPW 47th Anniversary Event when Ishimori issued an open challenge following his victory of Jushin Thunder Liger. The challenge was answered by Dragon Lee. Shortly after, Bandido inserted himself into the match and ROH/NJPW confirmed that a triple threat match would go down at G1 Supercard.

Speaking to NJPW, Ishimori shared his thoughts on his opponents.

On Bandido, Ishimori stated, "Obviously his background is in  lucha, but that’s not all he has going for him. He’s wrestled in Dragon Gate before, so has some Japanese experience. I think he can wrestle Japanese style, can wrestle American style. He could really wrestle for any promotion in the world. When we faced each other for PWG, it was at this tiny place. Sold out there were about 300 people there. One year later, Madison Square Garden for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship."

When talking about Dragon Lee, Ishimori said, "He had those great matches with Hiromu Takahashi. Tough, tough matches. Watching those matches you see that he’s taken on a little bit of the Japanese style."

Finally, Ishimori promised fans that they would get their money's worth on Saturday. "You compare what the three of us have done over the last year. It’s a can’t miss match. For the fans and for me."
