Tessa Blanchard Speaks On The Struggles She Has Had On Her Road To Success

Tessa opens up about her journey to success in the sport of pro wrestling.

In her four years in the pro wrestling business third-generation star Tessa Blanchard has put together quite the resume' for herself---capturing a number of championships around the world and holding her own in the ring no matter the gender that is standing across from her. Over the past two months Blanchard has been working with IMPACT Wrestling although she is not exclusively signed to the company as she revealed to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, but she and IMPACT are currently in negotiations with one another.

Blanchard is currently in Canada for the IMPACT Wrestling tapings that commence tonight and will pick up again tomorrow and prior to the tapings Tessa was the focus of an IMPACT Wrestling conference call where she went in-detail about her path to finding success in pro wrestling.

"I've gotten to travel and have these experiences; get the crap pay, work my way up, set up the ring, set up the chairs, travel the 14 hours there and back without a hotel, sleeping in my car, I've gotten to do all that. I really have this new found respect and I wouldn't have gotten to do that if I was with the WWE at the time," said Blanchard. "So these life experiences, these personal experiences through wrestling if I was signed at that time, my whole entire path would be different. Who I am today would be different. If you change even one variable something would be different and so I'm very, very blessed for things to have played out the way they have. Through the hardships, the good times, the bad times, the trials and tribulations, God's been on my side and I'm very, very thankful for the way everything has played out so far."

Tessa Blanchard has stated that it bothered her when she was not signed by WWE but being on her own has brought her experiences that would not have occurred had she joined the company. Among her many accomplishments Blanchard will be featured on the first independent wrestling super-show entitled 'All In' which sold out a 10,000 seat arena in under 30 minutes, and she was also recently crowned the first-ever 'PCW Ultra' Women's Champion. Blanchard went on to speak about the moments and memories she has created during her time as an independent wrestler.

"I got to do three months in Canada traveling and went up and down the Maritimes and worked 27 nights in a row, one of them. I wouldn't have gotten to do that if I was signed by the WWE at that time. I got to go to the U.K. and work for 'What Culture Pro Wrestling' and one of my favorite matches of all time was where me and Ricochet wrestled Will Ospreay and Bea Priestley." She revealed. "I learned so much in that one match and I wouldn't have gotten to do that if I was signed by the WWE. I got to wrestle Brian Cage, David Starr, AR Fox, Candice LeRae, Crazy Mary; girls who are actually signed now but I've gotten some of these matches that I genuinely, genuinely learned from and I wouldn't have gotten to do that if I was in WWE at the time because they were all in the independents."

As mentioned, Tessa Blanchard will be a part of 'All In' on September 1st. Fightful had the opportunity to speak with Tessa & Adam "Hangman" Page following the 'All In' press conference last month. To take a listen to that interview head over to the Fightful YouTube channel.
