The Crash Suspends Alberto Del Rio Following Domestic Violence Arrest

A statement from The Crash.

On April 6th, it began to circulate that Alberto Del Rio a.k.a. Alberto El Patrón had been arrested for domestic violence. Del Rio allegedly physically and verbally assaulted his girlfriend. She suffered injuries to her face and arms, according to a report from Mexico’s national newspaper Milenio.

The 48-year-old Del Rio was active in the ring, and one of the promotions he frequented was The Crash Lucha Libre. Following the latest news concerning Del Rio, The Crash issued a statement and disapproved of any acts of violence and went on to suspend Del Rio.

Back in May 2020, Alberto Del Rio was arrested for allegedly battering and sexually assaulting his girlfriend. He was charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm. He was indicted by a grand jury and formally charged with aggravated kidnapping and sexual assault. The charges were dropped.
