Thekla believes that she is currently at the peak of her pro wrestling career as AEW Women’s World Champion.
Back in February of this year, ‘The Toxic Spider’ would capture the AEW Women’s World Championship in a strap match against Kris Statlander. Now, she is set to defend said title at AEW Double Or Nothing in a fatal four way match that featured Hikaru Shida, Kris Statlander and Jamie Hayter.
While speaking to Westwood One Sports, Thekla was asked if she feels like she is currently at the peak of her pro wrestling career.
“Yeah. Yeah. I think the AEW Women’s World Championship is a pretty prestigious title all over wrestling, but especially in the States. So I think this is probably the peak for a lot of people. I think in a lot of people’s eyes, yeah. Me personally, sure. Yeah. Gold is gold, and that’s the shiniest one, and it’s the heaviest one, honestly, so far.”
The AEW Women’s World Champion then spoke about the weight of the AEW Women’s World Title.
“It’s really fucking heavy. See, look, the replicas are a little lighter. Actually, for some reason, they don’t like to spend that much money on the on the fake stuff, so, but when I was handed mine the first time, I was like, ‘oh god damn,’ like it’s a little workout getting in and out of that ring with the title. You know, it’s like heavy.”
Elsewhere in another recent interview, Thekla spoke about re-signing with AEW recently. You can read more about that here.
