Thunder Rosa Joins AEW As Spanish Commentator And On-Screen Personality While Recovering From Injury

Thunder Rosa is officially back with AEW, but she won't be returning to the ring yet.

On August 24, Rosa announced that she was dealing with an injury, so she would be unable to defend the AEW Women's World Championship. Rosa later clarified that she was dealing with a back injury. AEW then crowned an interim champion at AEW All Out 2022, and the "interim" tag was removed after Jamie Hayter defeated Toni Storm to win the title at AEW Full Gear 2022.

In December, Rosa offered an update, as she noted that she was lifting again, but she still wasn't back in the ring. The timeline for her return to in-ring action remains unclear. In January, Rosa noted that she would be back on the road with AEW soon, though she wouldn't be wrestling. Rosa reportedly worked on Spanish-language commentary at the AEW Dynamite taping on February 28.

In a tweet on February 14, Rosa announced that, while her recovery continues, she will join AEW as a Spanish commentator and an on-screen personality. She stated that she's thrilled to be able to serve Spanish-speaking fans with her new role. Rosa also noted that health is a journey with ups and downs, but for now, she will see fans from the booth.

As of this writing, additional details have not been shared. Fightful will monitor the situation and provide information as it becomes available.

Rosa recently stated that she wants to get better at promos once she returns. Click here to see what she had to say.
