TNA Suffered Slight Drop In Viewership

After its television numbers have been steadily rising in the last few weeks, TNA suffered a drop in viewership for this week's Impact Wrestling.

According to Showbuzz Daily, the September 1 episode of TNA Impact Wrestling drew only drew 351,000 viewers, down 6% from the 373,000 viewers that the show averaged last week. The show was #124 for the night in the 18-49 demographic with a 0.09 rating, down from being #100 last week. College football led the 18-49 rankings, with ESPN's broadcast of South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt topping the charts with a 0.77 rating and Home & Garden TV's Flip or Flop drew 2.534 million viewers, which is the most amount of viewers on September 1.

Maple Leaf Wrestling Files To Trademark 'TN Eh?'

This is the lowest viewership since the August 11 episode, which drew just 315,000 viewers, but still a solid number for TNA as it is the third straight week that it drew a least 350,000 viewers, which also happens to be the first three weeks of Billy Corgan becoming head of day-to-day operations for the company.

This week's episode opened up with a bizarre (but not out of the norm) video segment featuring the Hardy family at the Hardy estate, which can be seen in the video above. The main event saw Bobby Lashley retain the TNA Heavyweight World Title against Mike Bennett and DJ Z defeat Trevor Lee, Andrew Everett, Rockstar Spud, Mandrews and Braxton Sutter in an Ultimate X match to become the new TNA X Division Champion.
