The title match for NXT TakeOver: WarGames II is set.
On Wednesday's episode of NXT, General Manager William Regal announced that Velveteen Dream will challenge Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Title at WarGames II.
Tommaso Ciampa has been on a roll since returning from injury in January. While he lost his return bout against Johnny Gargano at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, he defeated Gargano in the rematch at TakeOver: Chicago II. Following his victory over Gargano, Ciampa went on to defeat Aleister Black to capture the NXT Title and then successfully defended the belt in a Last Man Standing bout against Gargano at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV. Since closing the chapter on his rivalry with Gargano, he has worked to clear his name as Black's attacker.
One man accusing him of the attacks was Velveteen Dream, who defeated EC3 at TakeOver: Brooklyn IV before knocking off Gargano a few weeks later on NXT television. With Gargano being revealed as Black's attacker, the focus of Ciampa and Dream now turns to the NXT Title.
NXT TakeOver: WarGames II is scheduled for Nov. 17. Fightful will provide live coverage of the event.
